At NC Nurse Consulting, LLC, our health and safety consultations support early child education programs in creating safer, healthier spaces where children can learn, play, and thrive.

With more than two decades of nursing experience, including public health, pediatrics, and childcare health consultation with Army childcare programs, we bring a practical, nurse-led approach to each on-site visit. During the consultation, we review your program’s health and safety practices, identify areas of strength, and provide clear recommendations to support regulatory readiness and daily operations.

Consultations may include a review of:

• Handwashing, diapering, and food safety practices
• Safe sleep environments for infants
• Communicable disease prevention and illness exclusion practices
• Cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting routines
• Indoor and outdoor safety, playground hazards, and injury prevention
• Medication administration and storage

• Emergency preparedness plans, including fire, evacuation, lockdown, and other emergency procedures

Following each visit, you will receive a detailed, easy-to-understand report with findings, prioritized recommendations, and suggested timelines for improvement. Follow-up support is also available to help your program prepare for licensing visits, strengthen daily practices, and feel more confident in your health and safety systems.

We offer practical, nurse-led trainings designed for early child educators, staff, directors, caregivers, and home daycare providers. Our trainings help build the knowledge, confidence, and readiness needed to support children’s health and safety in the program settings.

Training options include:

• Medication Administration Training, MAT (Virginia MAT trainer)
  Learn safe practices for medication administration, documentation, storage, and regulatory compliance.
• CPR and First Aid Training
  AHA and American Red Cross CPR and First Aid training options are available to help staff prepare for medical emergencies with confidence.
• Communicable Disease Prevention in Childcare Settings
  Understand how to recognize, manage, and reduce the spread of illness among children and staff.
• Emergency Preparedness
  Strengthen your program’s readiness for fires, evacuations, lockdowns, severe weather, and other emergencies.
• Supporting Children with Special Healthcare Needs
  Gain practical guidance for supporting children with medical, developmental, or health-related needs in the childcare setting.
